Kate Lush

Kate Lush co-founded and runs the International Intimacy Coordination Company, 'Safe Sets' with Sara Blecher, providing intimacy coordinators in South Africa, Europe and the UK for TV/Film and in theatre.
Kate is additionally a BECTU Level 2 Registry Intimacy Coordinator, has met the requirements for the SAG-AFTRA Registry List and also met the requirements SAG-AFTRA Intimacy Coordinator trainer.
Kate is an award nominated actor, has a 1st Class Degree in Performing Arts from the University of Hertfordshire and an MA in Acting from Manchester Metropolitan University having trained in Poland with Teatr Pieśń Kozła (Song of the Goat) and is a movement teacher,
Kate's work as a movement teacher spans many drama schools across London, specialising in character physicality, ensemble and alignment. Kate specialises in working with performers with no prior movement or dance experience.
While based in South Africa between 2020 and 2024 Kate Lush intimacy coordinated for most major networks internationally including Apple TV+, Netflix, CBS, Paramount+, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and others. During this time she worked with many minors and younger performers on both intimate scenes, familial scenes and additionally scenes with very young performers being exposed to extreme violence and death.
Kate has been a staunch advocate of psychological support for minors (and all actors) in scenes that may cause harm for many years. Kate is excited for the ongoing collaboration with Tamryn Speirs and the development of the CIS role and feels it marks a real shift in making Sets Safer for everyone!
