Tamryn Speirs

Tamryn Speirs is a dedicated child advocate and Young Performer Support Specialist, ensuring that all minors are safe, supported, and protected on set. Her work focuses on safeguarding children during scenes that may involve intimate content—defined broadly by Safe Sets as any material that could cause undue harm or distress, including violent, dangerous, or adult themes.

With over 20 years of experience as a children's acting coach, Tamryn brings both artistry and care to her role. She is the co-author, alongside director Meg Rickards, of A Filmmaker's Guide to Working with Children for Screen (Focal Press, Routledge UK), endorsed by acclaimed directors Jim Mickle (Sweet Tooth) and Likarion Wainaina (Supa Modo). The book draws on her extensive research, expertise, and methodology to equip filmmakers with practical tools for working with minors in a safe, ethical, and creative way.

Her recent work as a Young Performer Support Specialist includes credits on One Piece Season 2, The Wheel of Time Season 2, Huntington, Unseen Season 2, Fatal Seduction Season 2, Niggies, Die Oord, Wyfie, Spinners Season 2, and Snake.
